"What If" Medical Device Idea Campaign
As part of our mission, the IEM is sponsoring an initiative to inspire Medical School faculty to strongly think about medical devices in their fields. Specifically, the IEM would like to solicit thoughts and ideas about future medical devices that would be useful if developed, as well as current devices that could use improvement. Ideas are welcome and encouraged from all departments. After all ideas have been compiled and reviewed, IEM staff will discuss these ideas with appropriate engineers and provide seed money for numerous feasible projects.

The University of Minnesota has the resources and capabilities to accomplish breakthroughs in the area of medical devices. The Institute for Engineering in Medicine is dedicated to spurring the imagination of physicians and engineers in order to make meaningful, collaborative advances in biomedical engineering. Please help in this pursuit. Take advantage of the wonderful opportunity to explore your creative ideas concering medical devices.
